How to research a new lead in five minutes with ChatGPT before the first call
Turning up to a first call knowing what the prospect's business does, and what is probably keeping them awake, changes the whole conversation.

Nothing kills a first call faster than asking a prospect what their company does. It tells them you have not bothered, and you spend fifteen precious minutes on things you could have read.
Proper research used to take half an hour per lead. With ChatGPT's web search it takes five minutes.
The briefing prompt
I have a call with [name], [role] at [company], [website]. Search the web and give me a one page briefing: what the company does and who it sells to, roughly how big it is, any recent news, likely challenges for a business like this right now, and three good questions I could ask. Include links to your sources.
The sources matter. Click a couple to check them, because the model can misread a page or confuse two companies with similar names.
What to do with it
Do not recite it back to them. Use it to ask better questions. "I saw you opened a second site in the spring, how has that gone for the team?" is a far better opener than anything scripted.
And keep the briefing in your CRM against the contact, so whoever speaks to them next starts from the same place.
Making it automatic
When leads arrive through your website, we can trigger this research automatically, so the briefing is already waiting on the contact record before anyone picks up the phone. It is a small thing that makes a small team look very well prepared.
